HOME INSPECTION: ARE YOU READY?
You can ensure your house is ready for a thorough inspection by following these steps:
Ensure all utilities are hooked up.
Trim back bushes and remove items from exterior walls and vents.
Where possible, please move storage away from the walls of the house, garage and outbuildings.
Keep electrical outlets accessible and replace burned-out light bulbs.
In kitchens and bathrooms, tidy up under sinks for plumbing inspection.
Ensure all pilot lights are lit.
Ensure wood burning appliances are not in use and have cooled.
Please ensure the inspector has access to the mechanical systems in the home including:
Furnace · Water Heater · Gas Meter · Electrical Panel[s]
Water Meter & Valves.Ma
Make the attic hatch accessible; if the hatch is in a closet, please remove items for proper access.
Please make arrangements for pets during the inspection, or notify the inspector prior to the inspection.
