The staff at city hall in Stayner/Clearview have had a busy time lately with the increased level of interest in developing the area. Construction values have increased 146% and fees collected have increased by 205%.
As of July, 200 permits had been taken out as compared to last year and 283 in 2016, as of the same date.
The value of the work has jumped to $64.4 million from $18.8 million for the same period last year. Fees collected to the end of July were $732,000 as compared to $204,454 as of the same date last year.
Stayner and Clearview offer great scenery and a charming, traditional town on the doorstep to Georgian Bay and its sandy beaches, and the Niagara Escarpment, at prices that are more affordable than other locales.
